When Should You Get a Mold Inspection?
If mold is clearly visible is present, air quality testing may not be strictly necessary to confirm a problem — but it is always recommended for documentation and to understand the full extent of contamination.

Air Quality Testing (AQT)
Most CommonA calibrated air pump draws a precise 75-litre air sample through a filter, capturing airborne mould spores for lab analysis. Results identify the genera present, spore counts, and whether indoor levels are elevated compared to outdoor baselines.
Best for: Best when mold is suspected but not yet visible — or for post-remediation clearance verification.
Tape & Swab Surface Testing
For Visible MoldWhen mould is visually identifiable, tape lifts or swab samples are taken directly from the growth. Lab analysis identifies the exact genus and species of mould present — critical for understanding health risks and choosing the right treatment.
Best for: Best when mold is already visible and you need to know exactly what type it is.
ERMI Testing
Most ComprehensiveEnvironmental Relative Moldiness Index (ERMI) testing is one of the most advanced and accurate mould assessment methods available. Dust and mould samples are collected from carpets using a specialized vacuum and filter system, then sent to the lab for a comprehensive DNA-based analysis of 36 mould species.
Best for: Best for comprehensive whole-home assessment, or when other tests are inconclusive.
VOC, Formaldehyde & Radon Testing
Air QualityBeyond mould, poor indoor air quality is often caused by Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde from building materials, and radioactive radon gas seeping from the ground. Our air quality monitors detect and quantify all of these invisible threats.
